"I'm having trouble recovering as quickly as I'd like. I'd like to be in Austin (for the US GP on March 30), but I won't be racing," Martin said by video link at the Argentina Grand Prix on Thursday.
"I don't know if I'll be able to be in Qatar (April 13 It's still early. I'd like to do a test before returning because I'm not feeling very well."
Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez got the season off to a flying start in Thailand two weeks ago, completing a sprint race-Grand Prix double on his debut with the factory Ducati team.
"It's hard to watch from home. I'll be following it (the Argentinian GP) closely this weekend. I'm cheering on Aprilia; I hope they improve a little and get closer to that podium," added Martin.
