French skier Blaise Giezendanner had to be airlifted from the mountain after a fall during Saturday's World Cup downhill in Wengen.
The 33-year-old ended up in the safety netting after his left knee appeared to give way.
He was seen talking to his coach before being evacuated by helicopter.
Earlier, Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr, second on Friday in the super-G, also crashed heavily but was able to get up on his own, limping away from the finish area with a knee injury.
Another Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin had a serious crash the end of December in Bormio. He suffered a serious head injury and began a long period of rehabilitation.
